Download or Installation Problems (Windows)

When downloading the Online Bible Basic package or the Windows Content Installer, problems sometimes occur. Sometimes downloading doesn't work and sometimes the installation doesn't work afterwards. This can be a complex problem, in which the different versions of Windows, the browser used, and your antivirus program can play a role.

Nowadays, Windows has set the default security very tightly.

This also applies to the Microsoft Edge browser.

Therefore, downloads or installation of our files are sometimes incorrectly blocked. Your security sees that the Online Bible file is not downloaded that often (not millions of times), and therefore considers it suspicious as a precaution. However, our files do not contain any viruses.

Microsoft Edge notifies you when attempting to download the Online Bible files. You will then need to perform additional actions to start the download.

When installing the Online Bible in Windows 10, Windows Defender will notify you that it is an unknown app. Here, too, additional actions must be carried out in order for the installation to continue.

The Windows article Installation instructions for Windows explains in detail how to perform the above-mentioned additional actions.

Another problem that occasionally occurs is that an antivirus program when using the Online Bible incorrectly indicates that the program has a virus.

Antivirus programs are provided with updated information about viruses almost daily. It is possible that a few days later the notification no longer comes.

If the message persists, you can try to specify in the antivirus program that the Online Bible program OLB.EXE should EXE no longer be tested.

Given the large number of different antivirus programs, it's not possible to cover all of them here.

Help if you can't figure it out:

If you still can't figure it out yourself, you can ask our Helpdesk team a question. It consists of volunteers who are happy to help you and have a lot of experience in this field. You can get in touch with them by clicking at the top right of this screen: + New Support Ticket. Usually, you will receive an answer within a day. With your permission, they can also watch your PC or laptop, if necessary.

PM: It would be nice if the Virus Scanners would no longer block the Online Bible files as a precaution. However, the relatively small numbers of Online Bible users are not at all interesting for the large virus scanners. They don't even want to listen. And if it does work, the next update will reverse the case: so it's a hopeless task. There are also a lot of different virus scanner companies.
