After an installation has gone well, there are a number of things you need to pay attention to.

  1. Desktops

Go to View and choose Desktop management: a pop-up window will appear. If it concerns an update installation, you will find your ever created desktop here. By clicking on it (and OK) you will get all your old settings back. If it only says : Online Bible desktop, as with a new installation, then you have not saved your settings yet. In this case, create your own new desktop by clicking on the New tab and entering a recognizable name.

Then you can set the Favorites, as explained in this article: Setting up the favourites

If you do that correctly and then save them, these settings will be saved in your new desktop.

  1. Setting the image

Go to Window at the top of the bar and see what the checkmark stands for.  Set this check mark to Arrange horizontally or vertically or any other option, but NOT to Arrange Online Bible style

  1. Pop-up screens due to mouse movements

Go to View at the top of the bar and look for two V's at Cheating window and Dictionary cheating window. This is necessary to get the dictionaries on the screen when you step on a word in a Bible text: the cursor then changes into a hand and a little later a pop-up window appears with the explanation of the available dictionaries.

When you have put the settings back in order, here are some reminders of how it works again:

  1. Open a Bible text by clicking on the straight icon in the icon bar (the red Bible). You now choose the Bible text and it opens in the large window on the right,

  1. Open a comment by placing the cursor anywhere in the Bible text and right-clicking. In the pop-up window, choose Open comment. Choose a comment and the comment will open in a second screen on the right.

This commentary follows the Bible text when you scroll through the Bible text.

  1. Open dictionary. By hovering the cursor over a word in the biblical text, the cursor changes into a hand after waiting a while (provided that word occurs in one of the dictionaries). After waiting a while, the explanations of that word will appear in the dictionaries in a pop-up window and you can read what is written about that word.

  1. Opening a book: On the left side of the screen you will see the window with Library and Favorites, if not press the F3 key. Choose the Library tab, at the top of this window. Double-click on Dutch under Navigators on Language, if you want to view the Dutch books.

You will now see an overview of all books, classified by category. By clicking on the arrow for a topic, the topics open, which you can sometimes do with the topics.

Example 1: Choose Dutch, in the pop-up screen that appears, choose Books by author, click on the arrow for Mill(etc,), choose Topics Concordance, and you will immediately be in the table of contents of the Topics Concordance

Example 2. Choose Dutch, in the Pop up screen you go to the reference books. Click on the arrow in front of that, and click on the arrow for News, choose Persons in the Bible and you are immediately in the table of contents. Click on a person and you will see everything about that person.

PM: don't forget to close the screens in the library afterwards: click close a few times

 5. Search for a word or name in the Bible.  Click on the icon with the handheld magnifier (7th from the left) or press the F7 key.

In the pop-up window that opens, type the word you are looking for in the top bar. Put a dot next to Word below by clicking on it. Scroll through the list of modules to the Bible translation(s) you want to search and click on these translations. And click OK. When the word is found in a text, all texts in which that word appears appear in a right window.
